The BMV is telling me I need a VIN check on my new vehicle.  How does that work?

Any Jasper Police Officer can perform a VIN check on your vehicle/boat/trailer for you.  Come to JPD at 309 E. 6th St. and ask for an officer, or you can call 812-482-2255 and request a VIN check.  An officer will have to visually inspect your vehicle and run a records check on the VIN before signing off on the form.  Here's a link for the form,

VIN Check Form to print off to bring with you. There is generally a $5 fee for a VIN check in most cases.
