Downtown Revitalization Project - Phase II

Project Update as of 7.9.2025

A construction meeting regarding the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project was held on July 9^th with representatives of Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and City of Jasper.

Here is a summary of the discussion:

NORTH MAIN – 7^th to 9^th Street

• Construction will continue between 7th & 9th St.  Both blocks are anticipated to be closed for most of the duration of repair.

• Week of July 9^th  – Form and Pour driveways, install ADA pavers, and finish storm water connections.

• Week of July 14^th – Install stone in the roadway and begin filling planting boxes with soil.

• Week of July 21^st  – Begin Base and intermediate paving.  Install street signs and street lights.  Roadway will be open in time for Strassenfest, work on the 9^th St intersection and final paving to occur after Strassenfest.

South MAIN – 4^th to 5^th Street

• Week of July 9^th  - Crews will need to temporarily block off road parking on the WEST SIDE to allow the installation of permanent tent anchor points for the Strassenfest tents.  

• Scheduling is dependent on weather and materials.

 Accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project. German American Bank’s drive thru remains open at this time.

Meetings with contractor representatives are held bi-weekly once construction begins. Additional updates will be provided on a bi-weekly basis, or as updates become available.
