History
The Enlow City Cemetery was named after the Enlow family whose home was located in this area and who donated the land for the cemetery site. Many of Jasper's leading pioneer citizens and early settlers are buried here including some of the Enlow family dating back to 1812. The names and inscriptions on the tombstones in the old portion of the cemetery read like an early Who's Who in Jasper; doctor, lawyer, miller, soldier, merchant, blacksmith. In 1976, Gene Siddons and Bernard Siddons sold one acre of land to the City of Jasper for $1 to be used as an addition to the cemetery.
In 1995, the City erected a monument which lists the names of all the people buried in the old part of the cemetery.
The cemetery grounds and road are maintained by the City of Jasper.
