Downtown Revitalization Project - Phase II

Project Update as of 3.20.2025

A construction meeting regarding the Downtown Revitalization Phase II Project was held on March 20^th with representatives of Ragle Construction, REA, VS Engineering, and City of Jasper.

Here is a summary of the discussion: 

• Construction crews will finish most work between 3rd and 4th St by the end of next week 3/28.  Base paving will occur, and the road will be re-opened to traffic.  Occasional lane closures may occur as the finalize that section.

• Continuing through next week (3/24-3/28), the contractor will continue the work associated with Part Two which is Main Street from 7th to 9th with final completion in the Spring 2025.

• Construction will continue between 7th & 8th St. and will move to between 8th & 9th.  Both blocks are anticipated to be closed for most of the duration of repair.

• Scheduling is dependent on weather and materials.

• Accessibility to all building entrances will be maintained for foot traffic throughout the project.  German American Bank’s drive thru remains open at this time.

• Meetings with contractor representatives are held bi-weekly once construction begins. Additional updates will be provided on a bi-weekly basis, or as updates become available.
